New Extended Minerals Reporting Template, Additional Minerals Reporting Template Released

EMRT 2.1 and AMRT 1.3 now available to download
On October 17, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) released an updated Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) version: EMRT 2.1 and an updated Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT) version: AMRT 1.3.
EMRT 2.1: The Extended Minerals Reporting Template
EMRT forms are used to facilitate the transfer of due diligence information on the presence of cobalt and mica in supply chains. The EMRT form was developed by RMI in accordance with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
Changes to EMRT 2.1 from the prior version include:
- Corrections to all bugs and errors
- Added notice of Select Minerals/Metals in Scope
- Change to Product List to include "Requester Product Number" and "Requester Product Name"
- Updates to the Smelter List and Mine List tabs
- Updates to Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List
The first version of the EMRT form was launched in October 2021. RMI recommends using the EMRT form for cobalt and mica supplier reporting rather than the Cobalt Reporting Template (CRT) or Mica Reporting Template (MRT), both of which were phased out in March 2022.
The new EMRT template can be downloaded online.
The RMI recommends using EMRT 2.1 for the Reporting Year. The next version of the EMRT is anticipated to be released in Spring 2026.
AMRT 1.3: The Additional Minerals Reporting Template
The AMRT, formerly known as the Pilot Reporting Template (PRT), is a free, standardized reporting template developed by RMI to identify pinch points and collect due diligence information for minerals not covered by the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) and Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT). This is a template that was formally launched on November 11, 2022. The AMRT FAQ is available here and provides information on the purpose and recommended guidelines on using the AMRT.
Changes to AMRT 1.3 from the prior version include:
- Added Smelter Look-up tab containing standard smelter list for all minerals in AMRT scope
- Updated minerals input on Declaration tab
- Added notice of Enter Minerals/Metals in Scope
- Change to Product List to include "Requester Product Number" and "Requester Product Name"
- Updates to the Smelter List and Mine List tabs
The new AMRT template can be downloaded online.
The RMI recommends using AMRT 1.3 or higher for the Reporting Year. The next version of the AMRT is anticipated to be released in Fall 2026.
