Update on Recent Changes to EU RoHS Annex III Exemption Renewals and Expirations

On March 3, GreenSoft Technology hosted Navigating the Latest EU RoHS Exemption Updates, a webinar covering the EU RoHS Annex III exemption renewals now in effect. These exemptions, including critical ones like 7(a), 7(c)-I, 6(a), 6(b), and 6(c), play a vital role in the electronics manufacturing industry. It’s very important for companies to understand these new changes and update their EU RoHS compliance strategy accordingly.

You can watch a recording of the webinar in our Webinar Archive.

The 2026 EU RoHS Landscape: What Has Changed?

Significant changes to several EU RoHS Annex III exemptions were published in the Official Journal on November 21, 2025. While some exemptions were initially given expiration dates, new renewal requests have already rendered those dates "not applicable." This webinar provides the definitive roadmap for managing these updated exemptions in 2026.

    What You’ll Learn

In this webinar, Randy Flinders, Director of Regulatory Compliance for GreenSoft Technology, will:

    • Explain the exemption renewal process:
      • The process: What are the stages/steps of the process?
      • The timeline: Why does it take so long for decisions to be published?
      • The requirements: How and when can renewal requests be submitted?
    • Review critical Pack 22 and Pack 27 exemption changes and current status:
      • Exemptions which are now without expiry dates due to new exemption reviews
      • Exemptions which still have expiry dates in place, and what those dates are
      • Exemptions which are now set to expire with no possibility of renewal
    • Review recommended best practices:
      • Learn how to manage and track EU RoHS exemptions effectively
      • Learn how to eliminate product compliance or market access risks associated with EU RoHS exemption changes
