Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) are regulated by the Montreal Protocol

The production and consumption of nearly 100 ODS are regulated by the Montreal Protocol.

After scientists discovered a hole in the ozone layer in the 1980s, countries across the world united to adopt the Montreal Protocol in 1987, which to date remains the only UN treaty that has ever been ratified by every country on Earth.

The Montreal Protocol initially controlled Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other ODS, and was amended in 2007 to include Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

We collect supply chain data for you

We contact your suppliers directly to collect data on your parts and components to provide the documentation you need to prove compliance with ODS restrictions, as well as other global environmental regulations.

    Hands-On Data Collection

GreenSoft collects data from your supply chain and follows up with suppliers for clarification and corrections as needed.

    Comprehensive Data Validation

We validate the collected data for accuracy and completeness using a multi-step validation process to ensure 99.9% data quality.

    Material Analysis and Reporting

If suppliers fail to provide data, GreenSoft will perform material analysis to assess compliance, or recommend replacement suppliers or lab testing as a last resort.

    Expert Project Management

A dedicated Project Manager is assigned to your project to provide bi-weekly status updates and keep your project on track.

The ODS regulation was recently recast

In February 2024, The European Union published the new Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Regulation (EU) 2024/590, repealing the previous Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009.

The new regulation entered into force on March 11, 2024, and it mandates that the production, placing on the market, or usage of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HFCs), as well as products and equipment containing HFCs, is now prohibited.
